How do you add a scoreboard overlay to OBS Studio?
Add the overlay to OBS Studio by copying your overlay link and pasting it into a new Browser source at 1920 x 1080. OBS has browser sources built in, so there is nothing to download. The whole job takes about three minutes the first time and is saved in your scene after that, so later matches need no setup at all.
- Sign in and get your board Sign in at cdoscoreboard.com/app. A board is created for your account automatically, so there is nothing to configure before it exists.
- Copy the overlay link On your account page, press Copy next to Overlay. This is the read-only link: it can display the match but can never change it, which is why it is safe to leave sitting in your scene.
- Add a Browser source in OBS In OBS Studio, click the + button under Sources, choose Browser, and name it something like Scoreboard.
- Paste the link and set 1920 x 1080 Paste the overlay URL into the URL field, then set Width to 1920 and Height to 1080. The overlay is transparent everywhere except the board itself, so it sits over your video without a background behind it.
- Open the control panel on your phone Open the control panel link on your phone and pick the two teams. Goals, cards and the clock are all driven from there, and the overlay in OBS updates on air instantly.
How do you add a scoreboard overlay to Streamlabs?
Streamlabs uses the same browser source, so the overlay link goes in unchanged. In Streamlabs Desktop, click the + in the Sources panel, choose Browser Source, paste the overlay URL, and set the width and height to 1920 and 1080. The board then behaves exactly as it does in OBS.
- Same link, both apps. One board can be open in OBS on a desktop and Streamlabs on a laptop at once, and both show the same match.
- Mobile Streamlabs does not support browser sources, so the overlay needs a desktop encoder. The control panel is the part that belongs on the phone.
How do you add a scoreboard overlay to vMix?
In vMix, add the overlay link as a Web Browser input at 1920 x 1080. Choose Add Input, pick Web Browser, paste the overlay URL and set the resolution, then assign it to an overlay channel rather than a full input so it composites over your programme feed instead of replacing it.
How do you add a scoreboard overlay to TikTok LIVE Studio?
TikTok LIVE Studio takes the same overlay link as a Link source. The only difference is the sizing. A TikTok stream is usually vertical, so once the board is in your scene you resize it to sit across your portrait screen.
- Copy the overlay link Sign in at cdoscoreboard.com/app and press Copy next to Overlay, exactly as you would for OBS.
- Add a Link source In TikTok LIVE Studio, click Add source and choose Link. Some versions call it a web or URL source.
- Paste the link Paste the overlay URL. If it asks for a size, enter 1920 by 1080 so the board is drawn at full quality.
- Resize it to fit Drag the corners of the source until the board spans the width of your vertical screen, then drag it to the top or bottom, wherever it does not cover your face.
- Run the match from your phone Open the control panel link and pick the two teams. Everything you press shows up on your TikTok LIVE instantly.
What size should the browser source be?
Set the browser source to 1920 x 1080. The overlay is designed against a 1080p canvas, so matching those numbers keeps the board pixel sharp and correctly positioned.
If you stream at 720p, leave the source at 1920 x 1080 and scale the source down in OBS rather than entering 1280 x 720. Entering smaller numbers re-lays the board out for a smaller canvas instead of shrinking it, which is rarely what you want.
How do you run the match once it is live?
Everything is driven from the control panel link, which is built for a phone. The overlay link stays untouched in your streaming software for the whole match, so you never alt-tab away from your scene to change the score.
- Goals, cards and the clock are one tap each, and the clock runs from server time rather than your device, so it cannot drift.
- Two separate links by design. The overlay link is read-only, so a scene left shared or captured can never be used to alter the match.
- The board survives a refresh. Match state lives on the server, so reloading OBS mid game brings the board back exactly as it was.
Why is my scoreboard overlay not showing in OBS?
In almost every case the browser source is below your video in the Sources list, so the camera or capture is drawn on top of it. Drag the scoreboard source above the video source and it appears.
If the source is empty rather than hidden, work down this list:
- The URL was truncated. The overlay link carries a token on the end. Copy it with the Copy button rather than selecting it by hand.
- The source is still 800 x 600. That is the OBS default, and the board lays out off screen at that size. Set 1920 x 1080.
- The trial has ended. An unentitled board renders nothing rather than a broken half state. Check your account page.
- The scene is cached. Right click the source and choose Refresh cache of current page.
Do I need to install a plugin or restart OBS?
No. A browser source is built into OBS, Streamlabs and vMix already, so there is nothing to download, nothing to render and no restart. Updates reach the overlay over a live connection while the stream keeps running, which means you never have to interrupt a broadcast to change the score.
Does a scoreboard overlay slow down your stream?
Not meaningfully. The board is a lightweight web page rather than a video layer, and it only redraws the parts that change, so the cost is a fraction of a percent of CPU on a machine that is already encoding a stream. It uses far less than an animated video overlay of the same size.
Can two people run the scoreboard at once?
Yes. The match state lives on the server rather than in either browser, so a co-host on another device sees the same clock and the same score as you. Two operators cannot drift apart or overwrite each other, which matters when one person is watching the match and another is running the stream.
Which teams and competitions can you use?
1,432 teams across 72 competitions and 111 nations are built in, with colours and shields already correct for each one. You pick the two teams and the board dresses itself, so there is no configuration step before a match.
That covers the Premier League, the Champions League, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, the Europa League, the Championship, MLS and the international competitions, alongside a long tail of domestic leagues. See the full coverage.
